INTRODUCTION OF FYSSO GHANA

Founded as Fact for the Youth in the Southern Sector Organization (FYSSO) in 2001 at Sogakofe in the Volta Region (VR) as a non-profit making non-governmental organization (NGO), the name had to be changed to FYSSO Ghana in 2008 to give it a national image while still maintaining links with its original principles.  Over the years, it has occupied itself in the area of agricultural development and food security; water resources management and sanitation; rural health and community nutrition including HIV/AIDS control.  Other thematic areas have been microenterprise development; microfinance; support for persons with disability; girl-child and needy students’ education; and anti-child trafficking programs – all these geared toward poverty alleviation.
 
 

Vision, Mission and Strategic Objectives

The visionof FYSSO Ghana is a Ghanaian society where the minority’s socio-cultural and economic interests are protected resulting in an improved economic welfare and proud cultural identity.
 
 
The mission is to restore the socio-economic standard of living of women, youth and children by promoting appropriate and sustainable economic activities for them through support and advisory services on health, poverty alleviation, gender, child protection and conservation of natural resources.
 
 

The strategic objectives of the organization are to:

  • Promote sustainable agricultural development towards food security for all;
  • Facilitate local financial resources and linkages to capitalize and develop local micro enterprises;
  • Ensure environmental resource conservation and sanitation;
  • Promote children education and protection;
  • Support persons with disabled physical conditions to get employable skills;
  • Ensure a healthy man-power resources for effective economic development and reproduction;
  • Promote gender equity and good governance for equitable participation in community decision-making.
